Use Your Oven as a Proofing Drawer
It can be difficult to get a good proof on homemade bread when the kitchen is too cold. If this is the case, just put the dough in the oven without turning it on. Place a pan of simmering water underneath your dough and close the door.
The warmth and humidity of the hot water will give you the boost you need. It’s important to remember that yeast proofing and bread dough proofing are two different processes.
Freeze Single-Serving Sauces
Become an expert at upcycling! Small portions of homemade sauce can be frozen in egg cartons. (Especially when you need to use your ice trays for something other than ice—like one of these brilliant ideas.)
Cover and freeze any leftover Basil & Parsley Pesto cubes in an airtight freezer bag. Thaw the cubes in the fridge for 2 hours before using. In your kitchen, there’s a good chance you have at least one junk drawer. You can use it as well!
