Scott Smith was a founding member of the band and remained with them until his mysterious disappearance at sea on November 30, 2000.

Reporters tried everything they could to find out what happened to one of the lucky men who happened to cross paths with the great one, but their search came to a halt. In fact, he had no known date of birth, full name, family, or public records that could link him to a specific time or location. It was almost as if he didn’t exist at all.
