Paint Color Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make In Your Home

Picking out paint colors for any space is not an easy task. It’s not a decision you want to take lightly since it sets a room’s mood. Not to mention, it has a major impact on how your furniture will look. Well, according to professionals, here are some things you shouldn’t do when picking out paint colors:

Matching Too Much

It might be tempting to keep the room simple and easy by choosing just one color. However, you don’t want to match your walls to a color that’s just in one of your fabrics or furniture. It’ll end up being too much and become overbearing.

Leaving Out A Neutral

Once you find a color you love, it can be easy to go overboard. When trying to be colorful and exciting, don’t forget to balance it all out with neutrals. Add some architectural elements in white or even a few gray throws to balance it all out.

Being Too Safe

One the other end of the spectrum, if you go with a palette that’s only neutrals, don’t skip adding a stronger color into the mix. You need some contrast in a room to make it interesting.

Using Completely Different In Each Room

You know the look when one room is relaxed and chic, but then you walk into the next room and it’s a vivid 1920s design. Even if you don’t want to use the same colors in different rooms, it’s still a good idea to connect their designs.

Using The Same Colors Everywhere

The opposite is true as well. If you go with the same colors in the entire house, it can create an “uptight” look. Know when to pull back. While a two-color scheme is great, there has to be some relief to change things up a little.
